The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has reversed the downward trend of last few days to move up to US$ 116.06 per barrel (bbl) on 19.4.2012 as compared to US$ 115.44 /bbl representing previous trading day’s price of 18.04.2012.
In rupee terms also, the crude oil price rallied up to Rs 6022.35 on 19.4.2012 from Rs 5945.16 per bbl on 18.04.2012. This was due to increase in crude oil price in dollar terms and rupee depreciation with rupee-dollar exchange of Rs 51.89/US$ on 19.4.2012 against Rs 51.50/US$ on 18.04.2012.
