Adventure Sports Academy and State Hospitality Promotion Development Board would be set up in Uttarakhand.

Dehradun, Arpil 20: Very soon establishments like Adventure Sports Academy and State Hospitality Promotion Development Board would be set up which would subsequently promote Tourism activities in the state. It would also encourage production of tourism based films. The tourism would be connected with employment opportunities for the local youths. The Union Tourism Ministry would extend full support in implementing these tourism based schemes. Union Tourism Secretary RH Khwaza called on Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna at CM Residence on Friday.
Chief Minister sought support from the Centre for encouragement of tourism-based activities in the state. Stating that Uttarakhand had abundant tourism destinations he said that fund from the Centre was needed for their development. He apprised that adjacent areas of Tehri Lake were needed to be developed as tourist hub and proposal was being prepared for the same. He revealed that the State Government was mulling over establishing Adventure Sports Academy and State Hospitality Promotion Development Board. With these establishments coming into existence the doors of employment opportunities would open for local youths. Besides, it would also improve economy of the state. Chief Minister said that it was an endeavour of the state government to attract maximum industrialists for investment in tourism sector in the state. He assured that a single window system would be opted to ensure convenience of the investors. He said that main aim of setting up the State Hospitality Promotion Board was to provide solution to all the problems faced by the investors in tourism sector. The chief Minister said that the plastic would be banned in all the tourist spots for which instructions were being issued to all concerned officers. In the meantime the alternative for plastic is also being looked into to avoid inconvenience of the general public. Chief Minister issued instructions to Secretary Tourism to maintain uninterrupted dialogue between State Government and the Centre for implementation of tourism based schemes. He said that trade of local interests were being encouraged and tourism based vocational training were being imparted to the youths. Asserting that Tourism was one of the major revenue generating sources for the state, Mr. Bahuguna urged the Centre to take seriously all the proposals related to tourism forwarded by the state. Also present on the occasion was Tourism Secretary SS Sandhu.
