The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has recorded a fall lower on 18.4.2012 to US$ 115.44 per barrel (bbl) as compared to US$ 115.94 /bbl representing previous trading day’s price of 17.04.2012. The price has seen the declining trend for the third consecutive day beginning 16.4.2012.
In rupee terms also, the crude oil price declined to Rs 5945.16 on 18.4.2012 from Rs 5985.98 per bbl on 17.04.2012. This was due to decline in crude oil price in dollar terms and rupee appreciation with rupee-dollar exchange of Rs 51.50 /US$ on 18.4.2012 against Rs 51.63 /US$ on 17.04.2012.
