Big B in awe of 'Lincoln'

Mumbai, March 28 (IANS) He watched "Lincoln" twice in just two days and Amitabh Bachchan says he is not only filled with the "historical significance" of the film, but also the "detail and competence" of performances.
Directed by Steven Spielberg, "Lincoln" starred Daniel Day-Lewis in lead role as the late US President Abraham Lincoln and the actor won an Oscar for his performance.
"I see 'Lincoln' again for the second time in two days and find it even more engrossing. The writing is splendid and witty and of a calibre, which has been lost in the speed vocabulary of today’s generation of conversation - rapid, filled with oodles of brevity, and not really comprehensible to my lot," Big B, 70, wrote on his blog.
"I am filled with not just the historical significance of the film, but also the detail and competence of performance, not just for Mr. Daniel Day Lewis, and other prominent artists that adorn the screen during the course of the film, but for those that stand at distance and say nothing, but are with their effort in some way responsible for the success of the moment," he added.
"Lincoln" is the co-production between Speilberg's banner DreamWorks and Indian business tycoon Anil Ambani's Reliance Entertainment.
