Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna reviewed the Law and Order situation and development works in the state.

Dehradun, April 26:
Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna reviewed the Law and Order situation and development works in the state at his residence on Thursday and instructed the officers to work without any pressure.
He, however, said that the officers not carrying out their duties with commitment and sincerity would not be spared. Describing corruption the main obstacle in the path of development, he said that Vigilance Cell would be set up in all the departments. Laying emphasis on better coordination amongst the various departments
he asked the officers to resolve problems of general public on priority basis at local levels.
Chief Minister Bahuguna asked the senior officers of Police and Adminsitration to review the works to bring improvement in the performance of their respective departments. He advocated completing the works related to the public interest in stipulated time frame. He asked them to be present in their offices and carryout their duties with honesty. The Chief Minister asked the Police Department to increase extra vigilance to check entry of criminals from other states by deputing capable and
committed officers. He announced to provide additional Mobile Communication vehicles to Police Department.
Chief Minister Bahuguna asking the officers to give special attention to the Flagship Programs of Centre and State Government said that the works should be seen in the ground level so that general public feel improvement in the Government and Administration functionaries. He asked them to give top priority to the problems pertaining to Scheduled Class, Scheduled Tribes, Minorities, Women and elderly persons. He asked them to expedite the process initiated to end slackness in the Administration. He stressed on simplifying formalities and processes related to the
general public. He said that District Magistrates should keep an eye on the development works and ensure that quality in the works was not compromised. He also emphasized on checking leakage in all resources of revenue through capacity building.
For this he asked the officers to give special attention to mining, transportation, power and stamp duty. Mr. Bahuguna asked all the District Magistrates to prepare the lists of cases pending since a long time and submit them in the Chief Minister Office.
Mr. Bahuguna also issued instruction to ensure maximum participation of local youths in the development works. Taking in consideration the possible drinking water problem in summer season, he asked the concerned officers to prepare special work plan for it. He said that possibilities of support from the private medical institutions could be explored to meet the shortage of doctors in remote places. He said that works related to public welfare be publicized so as to ensure that every person availed of them.
Describing Char Dham Yatra important for economy of the state, Chief Minister Bahuguna asked the officers to ensure better facilities of water, medical and public lavatories for tourists.
He asked the District Magistrates to personally inspect the road construction works at Yatra routes. Mr. Bahuguna instructed the officers to conduct Alcohol Test on drivers in different locations to prevent road accidents. He asked them to remain prepared with a work plan to meet any eventuality. He said that the visitors should
return with a good image of the state from here.

Secretary to Chief Minister SS Sandhu, DGP Vijay Raghav Pant, Commissioner Garhwa Region Kunal Sharma, Commissioner Kumaon Region Hemlata Dhaundiyal and other officers of Adminsitration and Police Department.
